Glass slimming is usually a kind of wet etching process. Both side of glass and class edge can be slimmed by the chemical reaction between solution and substrate material.
The main component of glass is “SiO2”
Chemical properties of SiO2 :
- SiO2 is a very stable chemical compound.
- SiO2 doesn’t react with acid, alkali, oxidizer and deoxidizer.
- Except from fluorine, SiO2 doesn’t react with halogens and other acid, like HCl、H2SO4、HNO3.
